Wow, it is incredible that Sweden lags so far behind in terms of harm reduction policies and programs. Sad, but true... and shocking.

Good idea to let government officials know that people outside of Sweden are upset about their abysmal programs for drug users to assist them in preventing HIV or Hepatitis C.

In Canada it is official policy that health authorities must provide needle exchange programs for injection drug users. While there is still much work to be accomplished in Canada, at least in regard to needle exchange there is a wide-spread understanding among government and health officials that needle exchange do save lives, prevent disease, and that they are essential services.
