They adopted an action plan to eliminate or significantly reduce the demand for and supply of illicit drugs within 10 years. In 2009, they renewed this action plan, to be reevaluated in 2019. Many of the world\u2019s leaders still believe that with criminalisation and repression we can get rid of illegal drugs once and for all &#8211; but history teaches us otherwise.
