Igor Kuzmenko, a filmmaker and founder of the Drug Users News (DUNews) video blog<\/a>, needs your help! Please make a donation today to support his work to produce a series of documentaries about the community of people who use drugs in Ukraine during the war. Movies about the people, organizations, and networks that save thousands of Ukrainians from death and give hope every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

People who use drugs are among those marginalised communities who suffer the most during the war. Many of them were forced to leave their homes, fleeing the horrors of war. Many were under occupation, many live under daily shelling, without heat, water, communications and electricity. In addition, many of them found themselves without life-saving substitution drugs, harm reduction services, treatment for HIV, tuberculosis, hepatitis, and other diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the very first and most difficult months of Russia\u2019s war against Ukraine, Igor Kuzmenko, a member of the DUNews team, found himself under occupation in Kherson. For nine long months until the Ukrainian army liberated the city, he and his family were there. You can read about life under occupation in a series of his articles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the liberation of Kherson, DUNews decided to make a series of documentaries to give an opportunity to hear the voices of those we do not hear today, but whose actions and deeds are worth making known to as many people as possible around the world. Untold stories of death and suffering \u2013 but also stories of love and friendship, heroism and survival.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s tell these stories together, speaking boldly about life and death, about plans and expectations, and definitely about dreams and love. Let’s tell the world the stories of people who use drugs in Ukraine honestly and clearly!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
