In 2013, the award goes to <strong>DanceSafe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qmYK_HNHBxM\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>Paul Armentano<\/strong> received the <strong>Alfred R. Lindesmith Award for Achievement in the Field of Scholarship<\/strong>, which recognizes scholars, like Alfred Lindesmith, whose personal courage and quality of published research constitute a source of rational inspiration for all who labor in drug policy scholarship.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/39iQK-A1BE4\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Robert C. Randall Award for Achievement in the Field of Citizen Action<\/strong> honors citizens who make democracy work in the difficult area of drug law and policy reform. Spear Award for Achievement in the Field of Control and Enforcement<\/strong> is given to those involved in law enforcement who have demonstrated a balanced regard for the needs of enforcement and human compassion. This year&#8217;s recipient is the <strong>Seattle Police Department<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tbN7P3fHXiE\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>SICAD <\/strong>(the Service Intervention in Addictive Behaviors and Dependencies) and its general director <strong>Dr. Jo\u00e3o Castel-Branco Goul\u00e3o<\/strong> are the recipients of the <strong>Norman E. Zinberg Award for Achievement in the Field of Medicine<\/strong>, which recognizes medical and treatment experts who perform rigorous scientific research and who have the courage to report their findings even though they may be at odds with current dogma.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0ToXO5XpXQw\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Global Commission on Drug Policy<\/strong> is the winner of the<strong> Richard J. Dennis Drugpeace Award for Outstanding Achievement in the Field of Drug Policy Reform<\/strong>, which is given to a group or individuals who most epitomize loyal opposition to drug war extremism.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hdO24qFcDjE\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Justice Gerald Le Dain Award for Achievement in the Field of Law <\/strong>is given to individuals involved in law who have worked within official institutions when extremist pressures dominate government policies. The award is named after Gerald de Lain, the Canadian Supreme Court justice who chaired the nation&#8217;s landmark Commission of Inquiry into the Non-Medical Use of Drugs. He is experienced in working at international drug policy forums such as the Commission on Narcotic Drugs. He was twice elected to the Core Group of the EU Civil Society Forum on Drugs. He is the co-chair of the Eurasian Harm Reduction Network. He has been representing the Hungarian Harm Reduction Network at the government\u2019s drug advisory body in Hungary since 2007. Peter also contributed to building a network of advocacy NGOs in Europe: the European Drug Policy Initiative. He provided technical assistance to several NGOs, and launched several campaigns on drug policy reform. As a member of the Drugreporter video advocacy team, he has produced videos about drug policy issues in a number of countries.
