{"id":6738,"date":"2011-04-07T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-07T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/drogriporter.hu\/prison-uprising-in-lebanon\/"},"modified":"2022-07-04T14:35:07","modified_gmt":"2022-07-04T12:35:07","slug":"prison-uprising-in-lebanon","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/drogriporter.hu\/en\/prison-uprising-in-lebanon\/","title":{"rendered":"Prison Uprising in Lebanon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>While at the Harm Reduction Conference in Lebanon, the HCLU film crew witnessed a protest in front of a prison by family members, while prisoners rioted inside.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>It is often forgotten that prisoners should be treated with dignity as human beings &#8211; this is especially true for the prisoners held in the Roumieh prison in Lebanon. This facility was built to house 1500 inmates but often 5500 people are hold here, 30-35 people in one cell, thousands of them are pre-trial detaines who do not see a judge for several years.
