The BOOST project aims to support and strengthen community-based and community-led organisations in providing communicable diseases services as part of comprehensive, people-centred harm reduction strategies. Drugreporter produced this short video at a dynamic Advocacy Workshop in Budapest in the framework of the BOOST Project.

From 13-14 June 2024 the Eurasian Harm Reduction Association (EHRA), Correlation – European Harm Reduction Network (C-EHRN), Drug Policy Network South East Europe (DPNSEE), European Network of People Who Use Drugs (EuroNPUD) and the Rights Reporter Foundation (Drugreporter) organised a local Advocacy Workshop in Budapest in the framework of the BOOST Project.

This special gathering brought together six selected community-led and community-based organisations. The workshop was crafted to enhance the understanding of advocacy within the harm reduction field and provide participants with the necessary information, tools and skills to effectively shape and advance their local advocacy initiatives.

Highlights from the 6 selected Local Initiatives:

XADUD (Spain) focuses on empowering womxn in influencing public policies.
BerLUN (Germany) is working to improve access to hepatitis C treatment for migrants and undocumented people.
R3 (Portugal) is promoting policy dialogue among public institutions and community members.
ARAS (Romania) is striving for public funding for harm reduction in Bucharest.
HOPS (North Macedonia) is dedicated to securing financial sustainability for harm reduction programs.
