In 2023, during the 27th Harm Reduction International Conference in Melbourne, Drugreporter visited the North Richmond Medically Supervised Injecting Room (MSIR). We filmed a visit by Helen Clark, former Prime Minister of New Zealand and a member of the Global Commission on Drug Policy, who praised the facility’s life-saving work and called for more services like it across Australia and beyond.

In April 2026, drug user organizations, human rights advocates, researchers, and policymakers from across the Nordic region gathered in Oslo for the conference Nordic Mobilization on Human Rights and Drug Policy. The event marked the launch of a new Nordic network committed to promoting drug policies based on human rights, democracy, public health, and social justice.
