The seventh Interdisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Research (ICPR), organised by the OPEN Foundation, brought together researchers, clinicians, philosophers, Indigenous leaders and policymakers from around the world in Haarlem, the Netherlands. Held every two years, ICPR has become Europe’s leading conference dedicated to interdisciplinary psychedelic science.
In this film, we explore some of the key conversations shaping the field today. Speakers discuss the importance of Indigenous knowledge alongside scientific research, the current state of psychedelic science, psychedelic-assisted therapy, women’s experiences with psychedelics, new approaches to treating cluster headaches, theories of consciousness, and the growing debate about psychedelic use beyond clinical medicine.
The title, A Science in Adolescence, is inspired by OPEN Foundation director Joost Breeksema’s opening remarks, reflecting a field that has matured rapidly while still grappling with fundamental scientific, ethical and societal questions.
The film was produced by the Rights Reporter Foundation / Drugreporter during ICPR 2026 in Haarlem, the Netherlands.
