Chedrik Charvet of the Regenboog Groep explains in detail the mission and the successes of drug consumption rooms.
Drug Consumption rooms are established to reduce harms arising from illegal drug use and harmful drug policies: They effectively reduce overdoses, blood borne diseases and public nuisance, and connect people who use drugs to health and social services. In this detailed video Cedric Charvet from De Regenboog Groep intoduces us to AMOC, one of the three oldest drug consumption rooms running in The Netherlands.
The Drugreporter team had a chance to visit AMOC in December 2019, during a study visit tour. The tour was part of an EU funded project, Peer2Peer, which aims to promote peer involvement in services and decision making. We will soon publish a video about the project and the importance of peer involvement, until then, you can read more about the project here.
